PhD. position in multi-physics simulations of nuclear reactor behaviour
Dr. Piro is currently seeking a high caliber PhD. candidate in modelling & computational sciences to contribute to a software development project involving multi-physics simulations of nuclear reactor behaviour. This project involves state-of-the-art multi-physics codes developed by the US Department of Energy (DOE) that are being used to enhance performance and safety of existing nuclear reactor technologies and to assist in the development of emerging nuclear technologies. The candidate must have a strong programming background in C++ and conventional practices in writing scientific codes (e.g., using repositories, source documentation, software quality assurance standards). Experience using linear and non-linear algebra libraries (e.g., LAPACK and PETSc/Tao) and high performance computing systems is preferred. This project is fully funded by the US DOE.
